Emalee
Emalee is an award winning dancer currently living in Minneapolis, MN. She has traveled nationally to expand her knowledge of belly dance and refine her technique under the instruction of well known belly dance artists. She started Middle Eastern Dance classes in 2003 in her hometown of Duluth and quickly picked up the dance.
Progressing to the instruction of Julianna in Rochester, Emalee found an artistic director with the creativity and professionality she was looking for and joined the Blue Lotus dancers in the summer of 2005. With the Blue Lotus, Emalee has been an integral part of numerous dinner and theatrical belly dance shows in Rochester, MN and Minneapolis, MN such as the Quest for the Jewel of the Sahara, Seasons, Turn up the Heat, Dance Macabre, Cabaret Macabre, the Best of the Blue Lotus, and Rhinestones and Stardust, Crystalline Dreams, along with Blue Lotus Cabaret shows and workshop performances.
In addition to her involvement with the Blue Lotus Bellydancers, Emalee also dances at various restaurants and clubs in the Minneapolis/St Paul Area, including Ansari’s Grill and Lounge in Eagan, Beirut Lebanese Restaurant in St. Paul, and the Mediterranean Cruise Cafe in Burnsville. She teaches a variety of levels of belly dance class and also is available for private instruction or private group instruction.
As part of the ShimmyTwins, Emalee feels that the natural connection with her twin sister Marya allows them to perform a dynamic and unparalleled performance. In addition to performances in the Midwest, Emalee was privileged to participate in Jillina’s Al Dunia Showcase at Beyond the Stars Palace in Burbank, CA in January 2009, which was filmed and released under the title “Al Dunia” and is available for purchase on our store page.
