Marya is now in Atlanta!!
Marya is a professional cabaret and Tribal fusion belly dancer living in Atlanta, GA. She was first introduced to cabaret belly dance in Minnesota through her twin sister Emalee. Since 2003 Marya has been studying and performing Middle Eastern dance across the county. She performed regularly for five years in the Minneapolis, MN area at The Mediterranean Cruise Cafe and Ansari’s Mediterranean Grill.
Her passion for belly dancing took her to Rochester, MN where she became part of the Blue Lotus Middle Eastern Dance Troupe under the instruction of Julianna. Her participation in the troupe allowed her to explore many areas of belly dance and brought her to tribal belly dancing. Marya has excelled in the precision and discipline it takes to be both an oriental belly dance performer and a tribal fusion performer. Marya currently teaches classes at Life University and is available for private lessons. Her previous teaching experience includes teaching for Zenon Dance Company and the Blue Lotus Dance Center. She has taught beginning through advanced levels.
Marya has had many wonderful opportunities to dance at events in the Midwest such as Arab World Fest, Cassandra’s Cabaret, TeknoDoll Swimwear Fashion Show, numerous Blue Lotus Cabarets, the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, and Highland Fest to name a few. Her next adventure has started. She has now taken her talent and skills to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Chiropractic School.
